Imani Liberation House is a new and emerging, inclusive, progressive, liberation-focused Christian community based in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, and Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S Virgin Islands. We seek to embody a faith that resists empire, embraces justice, and centers those on the margins. Our community aspires to be a bilingual, LGBTQ+ affirming, inter-generational, charismatic, and spirit-filled congregation with blended worship drawing from the rich spiritual traditions of the Caribbean, West Africa, the Black church of the United States, and global liberation theology.
We are building a spiritual home where faith and justice meet, a house of liberation that nurtures worship, community, and organizing for justice.

Casa de Liberación Imani es una comunidad cristiana nueva y en crecimiento, inclusiva, progresista y enfocada en la liberación, con base en Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, y Christiansted, St. Croix, Islas Vírgenes de los Estados Unidos. Buscamos encarnar una fe que resista al imperio, abrace la justicia y centre a quienes viven en los márgenes.
Nuestra comunidad aspira a ser bilingüe, afirmante de las personas LGBTQ+, intergeneracional, carismática y llena del Espíritu, con una adoración que une las ricas tradiciones espirituales del Caribe, África Occidental, la Iglesia Negra de los Estados Unidos y la teología de la liberación global.
Estamos construyendo un hogar espiritual donde la fe y la justicia se encuentran, una casa de liberación que nutre la adoración, la comunidad y la organización por la justicia.
Sobre Casa de Liberación Imani
El logo de Imani Liberation House une la espiritualidad africana, el cristianismo y la inclusión radical. El antiguo símbolo egipcio doble del ankh (vida) y el pilar djed (estabilidad y resistencia) se utiliza para representar el séptimo principio durante Kwanzaa, Imani (fe). Usamos este símbolo como parte de nuestro compromiso con una fe cristiana descolonizada. Colocar el ankh ligeramente hacia el lado refleja una espiritualidad humilde y no coercitiva, resaltando que todas las trayectorias espirituales son bienvenidas. El fondo arcoíris proclama nuestra afirmación total de las personas LGBTQ+, y la manera en que los colores se mezclan entre sí también representa que somos una “iglesia de fusión”, una comunidad moldeada por muchas culturas, denominaciones, prácticas espirituales, estilos de adoración, múltiples idiomas y más. El aro que rodea el diseño representa unidad, protección y lucha colectiva. Juntos, el logo declara quiénes somos: un hogar espiritual seguro de vida, liberación y pertenencia para todes.
SOBRE EL LOGO
The logo of Imani Liberation House unites African spirituality, Christianity, and radical inclusion. The ancient Egyptian double symbol of the ankh (life) and the djed pillar (stability, endurance) is used to represent the seventh principle during Kwanzaa, Imani (faith). We use this symbol as a part of our commitment to a decolonized Christian faith. Placing the ankh slightly to the side reflects a humble, non-coercive spirituality, echoing the idea that all spiritual backgrounds are welcome. The rainbow background proclaims our full affirmation of LGBTQ+ people, and the way the colors blend into one another also represents that we are a “fusion church”, a community shaped by many cultures, denominations, spiritual practices, worship styles, multiple languages, and more. The encircling ring represents unity, protection, and collective struggle. Together, the logo declares who we are: a safe spiritual home of life, liberation, and belonging for all people.
